INFO FOR VHS STUDENTS & PARENTS FOR THE SOLAR ECLIPSE EVENT ON MONDAY, AUGUST 21ST:

The CCSD has secured enough solar glasses for all students to observe the eclipse. Each student MUST have a permission form turned in no later than during homeroom Monday morning. Students may check out to view the eclipse from home. They will be excused for only the second half of the day, and a parent MUST be present to check out his/her student. Students must check out at approximately 1 pm. No parent phone calls will be accepted for check outs on this day only. Parents must be present to check their child out.


ATTENTION SENIORS

Students interested in attending Southern Union this upcoming school year to complete a Dual Enrollment and/or an Accelerated course at Southern Union may come to Valley High School on Thursday, July 27 or Monday, July 31 between 9:00-11:00 AM EST to speak with a counselor. 

Southern union has 3 programs that are offered on the Valley campus. These programs offer scholarship opportunity as well. If you are interested in the EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), and/or Manufacturing Technology, please come to VHS and speak with a counselor on Thursday, July 27 or Monday, July 31 between 9:00 -11:00 AM EST .

Also, if you have a JOB, and would like to work during school hours while you get paid and earn a grade, please inquire about our "new" Co-Op program. Spaces are limited!!! You may call or come by to speak with a counselor Thursday, July 27 or Monday, July 31  between 1:00 - 3:00 PM EST. 

If you are unable to come during the above hours, you will need to contact the counselor for an individual appointment. All appointments must be made before August 8 in order for the following courses to be adjusted with your schedule for the upcoming school year. 

Valley High School Orientation for Returning Students

Valley High School will host orientation for returning seniors on Wednesday, August 9th at 9:00 am EST, for juniors at 10:30 am EST, and for sophomores at 1:00 pm EST.

Thursday August 10th, orientation for freshman with last names beginning with letters A-J will be at 9:00 am EST and for freshman with last names beginning with letters K-Z at 1:00 pm EST. All orientation sessions will be held in the VHS cafeteria.

All students will be allowed to purchase lockers for $10 and/or pay any outstanding fees.

Juniors and seniors may purchase parking permits for $15. A valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and vehicle registration (tag receipt) is required to purchase a parking permit. Immunization forms (blue shot record) must be current before the first day of school.

Students who are unable to attend orientation will receive their schedule on the first day of school, August 15th.
