*Credit Recovery will be on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon this week.  We will be back on schedule next week.  

*VHS will begin selling blizzards from Dairy Queen today after school.  Oreo blizzards will be available at the cost of $3.00 in the area by Mr. Leak's office after school each day.

*Since we are out on Fall break for most of homecoming week this year, we will begin celebrating our 2017 spirit week this coming Monday, October 9th.  Our Homecoming theme this year is There’s No Place Like Home and the dress up days are as follows:
     
     Wed, Oct 11—We not at VHS Anymore—Dress as your favorite celebrity or movie/TV character
     Thurs, Oct 12—Time TWISTER Thursday—Dress as your favorite throwback decade or a time period 

          in life such as a baby, small child, or senior citizen
     Friday, Oct 13—HOME is where the Heart is—Show your love for our VHS Rams by wearing 
          valentine’s related attire or VHS/Royal/and or Orange attire
The following week after Fall break:
     Thursday, Oct. 19—Hangin’ with my HOMIES—Dress as your favorite group/duo or twin with a friend
     Friday, Oct. 20—There No place like HOME—Deck out in VHS, Orange, and blue attire.
Please remember to keep all dress up outfits in dress code!!!

*Soccer tryouts will be Mon & Tues (Oct. 23rd & 24th) after school at 3:40 on the football practice field.  We encourage all athletes to come try out.
 
*All Juniors are required to take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 11.  This test is mandatory, therefore all juniors must be present and on time.  The PSAT is a preliminary SAT test which prepares students for the SAT college entrance exam.  Taking the PSAT automatically enters you in the National Merit Scholarship Competition and allows you to learn more about many colleges and universities.  The PSAT will be given in the gym and the Media Center.

*A representative from University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) will be here on Wednesday, October 25th at 10:00am.  This is a perfect time for you to ask questions about the college admissions process, scholarship opportunities, etc.  Seniors interested in speaking with this representative may sign up in the counselors' office..

*Key Club dues are $40 and due by October 12th.  These dues will include your tshirt also.  Mr. Pino will collect dues on Thursday, Sept. 21 and Thursday, Oct 5.  Mrs. Sharp will collect dues on Thursday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Oct. 12.
