Algebra II with Trigonometry

Students are expected to attend class daily. Students will not be allowed to leave the classroom to check-out. All check-outs must be arranged before or after class.

Students with excused absences must make-up any missed assignment within two days of the absence. It is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements with the instructor for any make-up work. Any work not made up within two days will be given a grade of zero.

Students are tardy to class if they are not in the classroom when the bell rings.

Students are expected to come to class with their supplies. Students must have the following supplies on a daily basis: notebook, pencil or pen, scientific calculator, Casio fx-115ES Plus if possible. Optional supplies needed: dry erase markers.

1. Respect others; keep hands, feet, insults, and other objects to yourself.
2. The student is not to talk without the instructor’s permission. Raise hand to request permission.
3. The student is to stay in his/her assigned seat. You must ask permission from instructor to leave your seat.
4. No eating, drinking, chewing gum, grooming, or sleeping. Consequences for each will be discussed in class.
5. Absolutely no cell phones are allowed in class.
6. Do not work on any other subject during the class.
7. The student will clean around his/her desk at the end of the class period. Trash should be placed in the waste can as the student exits the room.
8. The student will not deface school property.

1. First offense – The student will receive a verbal warning.
2. Second offense – The student will be assigned after school detention. He/She will complete assigned subject task or cleaning chore. Written notification will be sent home with the student. If the student does not stay on the assigned day, the student will receive an office referral.
3. Third offense – The student will be assigned two days after school detention and the instructor will call parents.
4. Forth offense – The student will be referred to the office and a parent conference will be requested. ****A severe behavioral offense will result in an immediate office referral.
Students are expected to be on their best behavior when a substitute teacher is present. If a student’s name is left by the substitute for any reason, the student will receive morning or afternoon detention for one week. Students are expected to complete all assignments when a substitute is present.


Homework/Quiz 30%
The student will be assigned homework most nights. The only way to succeed in math is practice. Homework will be taken up periodically. Quizzes, that will be similar to homework, will be given on a regular basis.

Chapter Tests – 70%

Semester Test/Final – 20%

First semester – 40%
Second semester – 40%
Final test – 20%
