Attention All Juniors! You will be taking the ACT Plus Writing on Tuesday, March 10th in the Northwing building of the 2nd floor. You may bring a calculator with you to use on the math portion of the test. All eleventh graders are required to take the ACT and we will begin testing at 7:55 am, so make sure you are present to school and on time. Students who get plenty of sleep the night before and eat breakfast prior to testing typically perform better on the ACT. Students may not take cell phones or book bags inside the testing room site. Cell phones will be collected on the 1st floor of the North Wing as you enter the building. Book bags will remain outside the testing room area.

❄️🥶 Brrr… what a cold one! We hope all of our Chambers County Schools students, staff, and families stayed safe, warm, and cozy today.

Thank you for your patience as we navigated the winter weather. We’re hopeful that road conditions have improved and that everything is clear and ready to go. But, please be careful and watch for slick spots on less-traveled roads.

📚🏫 We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27.

Stay warm tonight, and we’ll see you soon!

The health and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. Due to a significant increase in cases of the Flu, RSV, and stomach viruses across our district, Chambers County Schools will transition to a Virtual Learning Day on Friday, January 23.

This brief shift to remote learning is a proactive measure intended to curb the spread of illness and allow our facilities to be thoroughly sanitized before students return.

We appreciate your flexibility and cooperation as we work together to keep our school community healthy and safe.

Parents/Guardians: We’re seeing an increase in flu and COVID-19 cases. Please monitor your child for symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, congestion, or fatigue. If your child is sick or showing symptoms, keep them home until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours without using medications to reduce or mask symptoms.

Note: Any parent notes used to excuse illness during January will NOT count toward the four allowed parent notes for the 2nd semester.

Thank you for helping keep our schools healthy!

Winter Weather
As flu season intensifies, it's important to take extra steps to protect our children from both the flu and COVID-19. Here are some simple ways to keep them healthy:

🧼 Hand Hygiene: Remind kids to wash hands frequently, especially after eating, playing, or using the restroom.

🤧 Stay Home When Sick: If your child has symptoms like fever, cough, or fatigue, please keep them home to prevent spreading illness.

💪 Boost Immune Health: Ensure your kids get enough sleep, eat healthy foods, and stay active to strengthen their immune systems.

Let’s work together to keep our school community safe and healthy this season! ❤️

Chambers County Schools joins our community in honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His message of service, equity, and hope continues to inspire us.

Reminder: In observance of MLK Day, there will be no school on Monday, January 19, 2026. We encourage families to take time to reflect, serve, and learn together. Classes will resume on Tuesday. ✨

MLK Day
Dear VHS Families, As a reminder, afternoon pick-up for car riders is in front of the gym. Please help us keep our students and drivers safe by picking up in the pick-up line. It is extremely dangerous for students to cross the street during dismissal when buses are pulling onto Highway 29. We have had more than one almost accident this school year, and the last thing we want is for one of our students to be hit by a vehicle. While it may not be convenient, we ask that you keep the safety of our students as the priority. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
