A portion of the proceeds for May Day will be donated to Valley Haven School and its Annual Hike-Bike Day. The deadline to purchase VHS May Day admission tickets is tomorrow, May 1, 2024. Tickets are $20 and will include entrance wristbands, pizza and a soft drink. You are greatly appreciated for your contributions to our community and for your support of Valley High School. Chambers County School District is organizing a two-day interview session to fill positions in our Elementary, Middle, and Secondary schools. Representatives from all schools with open positions will be present, and each applicant will participate in one joint interview for consideration for all schools. It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our colleague and friend, Coach Corey Thornton, who passed away on April 2, 2024. Coach Thornton passed away unexpectedly. He had been a teacher and coach at LaFayette High School since 2011. We will all miss him more than words can express. He was not just our co-worker but our good friend as well. We will share the funeral or memorial service details as we hear them from the family. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Good afternoon parents, A reminder that all juniors will be taking the ACT tomorrow, March 12, 2024. Please ensure your child is present and on time to school. After the test is administered, students participating may be allowed to partake in a junior class picnic on the band practice field at VHS. Go Rams!

There will be no After-School Tutoring on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. This will allow families and staff an opportunity to attend the basketball game supporting Valley High School Rams.

This community engagement will use the SWOT protocol which allows participants to voice strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats pertaining to the Chambers County unification process.

The Nurses met with Chambers County DHR for an informative Professional Development day. Mrs. Julia Ann Hyde and her wonderful staff presented information to the nurses regarding Mandated reporting in the school system.
