
Attention all 10th grade students and parents: All 10th grade students will be taking the Pre-ACT on Thursday, October 19th. This is a graduation requirement. Students, please get adequate rest the night before, eat a good breakfast, and arrive on time to school with a fully charged chrome book.

Report cards went home today, Thursday October 12th. Please contact your child's teacher and/or grade-level counselor if you have any questions regarding your child's grade.

Dear VHS Family, Due to the anticipated chance of rain this afternoon, our Pep Rally/Bonfire has been cancelled. We are still planning on holding our Homecoming Parade tomorrow, beginning at 5 pm.

CCSD Statement – on Huguley Elementary School incident – Oct 10, 2023
On Thursday, October 5th, students at Huguley Elementary School began preparing for dismissal that afternoon. Prior to dismissal and following dismissal, no incidents of concern were reported by students or staff regarding the safety and well-being of any Huguley students. All dismissal of car riders and bus riders took place without any reported incidents.
On Friday, October 6th, near mid-day, Huguley Elementary School Principal, Mr. Philip Jenkins received a visit from authorities representing the Lanett City Police Department. It was at this time on Friday, that Mr. Jenkins was made aware of an alleged incident by which a Huguley Elementary School student was injured prior to dismissal on Thursday afternoon.
Mr. Jenkins fully cooperated with law enforcement authorities and reviewed campus video footage. None of the footage reviewed supported any of the allegations made to law enforcement. Additionally, the Huguley Elementary School SRO (or School Resource Officer), SGT. Yates found no evidence to support any wrongdoing by other students or school staff
The school leadership at Huguley and the District have strived to be cooperative and assist with the investigation. The Chambers County School District is committed to maintaining the health, safety and overall well-being of all of our students.

9th Graders ONLY
Scoliosis screening consent forms were sent home today during homeroom. If you wish for your child to be screened by Nurse Landrum, please complete the form and have your student return it to their homeroom teacher. Forms are due back by 10/13/23. Screenings will take place on Tuesday 10/17/23.

Athletic Booster Club membership dues are due and can be paid on My school bucks. Individual dues are $30 and Family dues are $50.

A reminder that parking decals must be displayed in student vehicles at all times during the school day. Warnings were issued today for vehicles that were parked without current parking passes.
Please make arrangements to purchase decals from the attendance office if your student received a warning notice. Decals are $15 each and will be current through May 2024.

Credit recovery at Inspire Academy will be extended by 1 hour each day to accommodate for the day missed for severe weather on 6/14/23. Students will stay until 1:30 PM CT each day starting 6/22 through 6/29. Thank you!
